Hello everybody, and welcome to Movies, Math, and More Monday!
First, Andy will kick off YEP’s Shark Week by talking about the official Shark Week happening on Discovery Channel right now.
Then, Kenzie tells us a great Shark Tale!
Bonus math questions. Students get an extra point each for answering these questions:
- The fastest shark in the world, the Shortfin Mako Shark, can travel 35 miles per hour. At that pace, how far could it go in 124 hours?
- The slowest shark in the world is the Greenland Shark, which travels at an average speed of .75 (that’s three quarters of a mile per hour, not 75) miles per hour. How long would it take the Greenland Shark to travel the entire Mississippi River from north to south?
Thanks, and have a great day,
The YEP Team
